In the political world today, the scales are heavily tipped in favor of the Democrats. However,
these are not your father's Democrats! In fact, they rarely use the name "Democrat" preferring
to use the term, "Liberals". This is quite significant because, in the past, the Liberals were
the fringe element of the Democratic Party. They were the extremists, the ones characterized as, "way out there!", the radicals. In fact, they still are those things but they are no longer a fringe
element. They have hijacked and taken over the Democratic Party! To counter these extremists,
the once fringe element of the Republican Party, the Conservatives, have come to prominence.
For a democratic government to work, you must have moderates dominating each party who
are capable of reaching across the aisle and effect compromises. This fact is strikingly evident
today as we see that the two extreme elements are capable of getting almost nothing accomplished.
